The Betrayer and the BetrayedJesus Christ, my teacher, my Lord.
Judas Iscariot, my student, my friend.
I have betrayed you whom I've adored.
It was foretold this would be my end.
Thirty silver coins was the price named.
A trifle sum for the life of your King.
I gladly accepted with greed untamed.
A new era your betrayal will bring.
Though Satan possessed my body and mind.
For his temptation, I can attest.
Only I can be blamed for your life consigned.
But true devout faith he cannot best.
With this greatest mistake I cannot live.
My son, a graver error you now make.
Over to Hell my soul I now give.
Forgiveness could have been yours to take.
All shall know the grim truth of my sin.
Prophecy fulfilled, but my heart does weep.
As I release the blasphemy within.
For your damned soul I cannot save or keep.
The Inner SanctumWe Pharisees, Chiefs of Priests, Rabbis,
Men of God swathed in robes of lies,
Condemn the Innocent of Nazareth,
To a gruesome and most deserved death.
For loathsome acts he has performed,
Blasphemers around him have swarmed,
Forsaking Israels ancient ways,
Our authority and laws he betrays.
How dare he heal on the Sabbath!
Surely he invokes Gods righteous wrath!
How dare he preach of a new covenant!
The seeds of sin his teachings implant!
Shame upon he who advocates change,
So a deal with a disciple we did arrange,
To arrest the so-called Son of Man,
And greedily he aided in our plan.
The crowds are now quick to condemn,
Swearing wicked oaths and spitting phlegm,
Upon the hailed Savior of the Jews,
Finally we have exposed his evil ruse!
Donning a crown of twisted thorn,
His back tattered from a whip well worn,
He faces death beneath a heavy cross.
At last we can end his reign of chaos,
Securing our holy seats of power,
We rejoice at this, his final h
RemembranceA year has passed since your departure,
Though it seems only mere days.
Memories I've held close to my heart,
Alongside withered lily bouquets.
Childhood laughter echoes clearly,
Ribs still aching from tickle wars.
Hot tears sting as well as skinned knees,
But your healing kiss a smile restores.
Hot chocolate sipped on long car rides,
Driving to find where the road ends.
Picnics shared at the foot of the Falls,
Where reminiscent water descends.
Weekend mornings hold sweet aromas,
Promising pancakes and cartoons.
Beloved films re-watched and recited,
While swathed in soft, fleecy cocoons.
Mochas sipped, watching Nuthatch friends,
Famous cookies baked as Stevie sings,
Thick crust pizzas blissfully savored,
Joy found in the simplest of things.
Though you've left this world behind,
Our memories shall ever remain.
Through my grief I patiently wait,
Until we can embrace once again.
The Candy HouseThrough thick woods Hansel and Gretel did romp
Till they came upon a cottage quite queer
Both stared in wonder at the forests gem
And from their previous route they did veer
Upon reaching the house they discovered
That entirely of food it was made
Of sweets and sugars as they'd never seen
Down the path of mints they skipped unafraid
Great walls of gingerbread before them loomed
Covered in confections huge, large, and small
Jellies, licorice, chocolate, and cookies
The gorgeous, sparkling candy they did maul
Upon the first taste Gretel choked and spit
Along with Hansel who coughed up his bite
Confused they gazed upon the candy home
Which tasted of dirt, something wasn't right
From the door peeked a ghastly ugly witch
Whose grin held two teeth and quivering lips
Till upon the choking children she gazed
She stood confused with her hands on her hips
"Dear children," she said, in a witchy voice
"What makes you cough and spit up my sweet walls?
Are they not the fulfilment of your dreams?
Kings of OldGreat and mighty kings of old
Countless times your stories are told
Generations come to know you well
In their hearts your memories swell
Royal lines traced back to the beginning
But now your precious blood is thinning
For the rulers of Israel and Judah
Forgot their creator and strayed from Jah
By worshipping cast metal idols
You threw away your everlasting souls
For you invoked God's jealous wrath
And you shall pay in a blood bath
You led astray the people of the Lord
Praised yourselves for vanquishing hordes
Embraced the wicked ways of the nations
Whom with God said do not make relations
Materials and power drove you away
From resting with Him in peace one day
And this king did evil in His eyes
The next drew out wicked family ties
Another built altars to non-existent gods
Few overcame the ever growing odds
To give their heart to their creator
To ask forgiveness from their vindicator
Great and mighty kings of old
Who bought each lie they were sold
See how you destroyed the chosen ones
